In the very beginning, the company’s founder was sitting on one of those hard stadium benches watching a PAC-10 football game.  As his backside got increasingly sore, he vowed to bring a stadium cushion to the next game.

The next week, after traveling to 3 different stores in search of stadium cushions (with no luck), he finally found two of those bulky, folding, vinyl covered, foam pad-wood-metal things and made the purchase (at $15.00 each) since nothing else was available.

He and his family liked to ride their bikes to the games to avoid traffic, so you can imagine how silly he looked carrying those folding chairs along with his backpack full of raingear and refreshments, not to mention the fact that it was dangerous riding with only one hand free.  

He finally made it to the game and lugged those chairs to the designated bleacher.  It was frustrating to walk by the hot dog stand and not be able to pick some up (his hands were too full).  When he sat down and found out how uncomfortable the cumbersome, expensive chair was, that was the last straw!

As he sat there and thought about how much trouble it had been just to be comfortable at the game, He thought …”There’s got to be a better way – something that isn’t bulky, fits in your pocket, provides great comfort, and has an affordable price tag…”
